The 3 R's in amphibian ecotoxicology
Aveiro (Portugal): March 22-23, 2022
Most available standard guidelines aimed to assess the effects of chemicals on amphibians, involve in vivo experimentation, which makes difficult their risk assessment considering the increasing amount of chemicals to be tested and the ethical issues involved. Several international legislation encourages the reduction and replacement of the experimentation with vertebrates.
This training school will tackle theoretical and practical aspects of in vitro and in silico approaches, that integrate the 3 R´s of animal alternatives, to be used in different stages of the risk assessment of chemicals to amphibians.
The Trainin School is open to graduate and post-graduate students (PhD and MSc) and professionals with a background on amphibian ecotoxicology and risk assessment, or related fields. Limited to 20 participants.
The Training School is be organized within the COST action PERIAMAR (CA18221) and the research project Gogofrog (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-030718).
